Our amazing STAR groups and supporters have been very busy during the COVID-19 pandemic by coming together to take part in different challenges and raise vital money for our charity.
Equal Access is carrying on! And changes to humanitarian protection status access to university
Although shutdowns and cancellations are the norm right now we are happy to say we are still working hard (from home) to increase access to university for refugees and asylum seekers.

STAR’s Action Week to Lift the Ban
This Action Week, STAR, as part of the Lift the Ban coalition, will campaign for the right to work for people seeking asylum in the UK. You can take action right now by signing the petition to lift the ban!
Spotlight on STAR’s 25th birthday running team
This Sunday (1st March) STAR has a whole team of runners taking part in the Vitality Big Half to raise much needed funds for STAR! The event is part of our year-long celebration of turning 25.
STAR groups campaign for Families Together on Action Day 2020
On January 29th, STAR student groups across the UK participated in the Families Together Action Day 2020 by raising awareness for the Families Together campaign.
The Families Together coalition handed in petition with 75,000 signatures and we were there!
STAR, the Families Together campaign coalition, and students from Oaklands School handed in a 75,000 strong petition to the Home Office calling on the government to reunite refugee families.
Scholarships open for applications on International Day of Education
On this International Day of Education STAR is calling for equal access to higher education for refugees and asylum seekers and highlighting scholarships available in the UK.
