We can’t believe it is already the end of the first term for this academic year! It has been an amazing start to the year for groups. Since the start of term, they have held:

🌟189 events! This ranges from fundraisers, panel discussions, quiz nights, films screenings, trainings, meetings, campaigns, demonstrations and so much more.

🌟28 one-off volunteering events. Including donation drives, Sanctuary Scholarship Information sessions, University Open days, football matches and letter writing.

🌟23 student led volunteering projects in collaboration with local partner organisations currently active and more in the process of being set up. This includes conversation clubs, football practices, bike projects, women’s clubs and more.

🌟3 new groups set up, meaning there are 36 groups in the network. Welcome to Aberystwyth, Queen’s University Belfast and BPP London.

This is an incredible achievement and the hard work that the groups put in to make all of this possible should be recognised. Your work creates spaces and sends clear messages that refugees and people seeking asylum are welcome both in the local community and across the country! We are so excited to see what you do next term.
