University of Bath (Bath STAR)
At the University of Bath STAR, we aim to support local refugees and people seeking asylum through a variety of volunteering, fundraising and campaigning efforts. We also run social and educational events to promote solidarity and raise awareness within our community. You can reach us via email or Instagram — we’d love to hear from you! Feel free to contact us via email or our Instagram
University of Bristol (Bristol STAR)
Bristol STAR currently runs a conversation club twice a week to allow refugees and asylum seekers to practice their English in a safe and comfortable environment. We also partner with Jacari to run volunteer tutoring with local children from refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds. Additionally, we are partnering with organisations around Bristol to run events for asylum seekers and refugees to express themselves. We also work closely with the university of Bristol to organise outreach events for the university’s sanctuary scholarship program. It is best to contact us through our email or our Instagram!
University of Exeter (Exeter STAR)
At Exeter STAR we run fundraising events throughout the year and work closely with volunteering projects in and around Exeter. We also hold a variety of different society events ranging from pub quizzes to academic talks. Our core goal here at Exeter STAR is to help refugees both in our local community and beyond, through raising money, volunteering and educating. Keep updated by following us on Instagram!
University of Gloucestershire (Gloucestershire STAR)
At Gloucestershire STAR, we welcome students to become informed advocates for displaced people locally and around the world. We run fundraisers and campaigns throughout the year and work closely with local groups in Cheltenham and Gloucester. Last year we worked with our University of securing University of Sanctuary status. We’re always happy to receive new members, or answer any questions, so please reach out on our Instagram
University of the West of England Bristol (UWE STAR)
University of Plymouth (Plymouth STAR)
Part of the national STAR network, STAR Plymouth is a student-led, award-winning initiative committed to creating a more understanding, just, and inclusive society—one where refugees are welcomed and thrive across the UK.
At STAR Plymouth, we champion refugee rights through action, advocacy, and community building. Whether by organizing events, leading campaigns, or connecting with local support networks, we work to dismantle barriers and foster solidarity.
