At University of Leeds STAR, we are passionate about refugee and asylum seeker rights. We run several weekly, informal English conversation classes as well as a bike scheme where we train volunteers to fix bikes which are then donated to refugees. Sheffield STAR works to help build a community on campus and the local area where refugees are welcomed and can thrive in the UK. We work with are large number of local charities, provide volunteering opportunities and set up multiple exciting fundraisers including music events and bake stalls.
